Their stories are set against the backdrop of the catastrophic loss of the world’s biodiversity, the struggle of indigenous practitioners to preserve their ancient knowledge, and the work scientists and policy makers are doing to encourage the sustainable use of the Amazon as an essential medical and economic resource.
